Second Stage Round 4: Triglav - Maribor 62-56

An exciting game was played in Kranj. Third ranked Triglav faced 4th ranked Maribor. Host Triglav (3-1) defeated guests from Maribor (1-3) 62-56. It looked good early as Maribor took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Triglav took control winning next two quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 6 points. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Triglav forced 22 Maribor turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Manca Vrecer (178-2002) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. Ana Saric (185-2000) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Merisa Dautovic (186-1999) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Spela Brecelj (185-2005) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Maribor. Maribor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Triglav maintains third position with 3-1 record having just three points less than leader Celje. Maribor at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Triglav will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Maribor will play at home against Konjice (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
