Everything went according to plan when second ranked Tigers (17-6) outplayed on the road 15th ranked Science City Jena (8-15) 79-59 on Saturday. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Finnish point guard Aatu Kivimaki (185-1997, agency: Blacktop Management) who led the winners and scored 10 points and 8 assists. American Zac Seljaas (203-1997, college: BYU) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. American center Alex Herrera (206-1992, college: Fort Lewis) came up with 6 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Seth Allen (185-1994, college: Virginia Tech) added 13 points respectively for Science City Jena in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tigers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-6 record having just three points less than leader Vechta. Science City Jena lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. Tigers will meet at home Kirchheim Knights (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Science City Jena will play against Falcons (#10) in Nuernberg and hope to secure a win.
