Second Stage Round 8: Stekas - Rytas 2 101-81

Not a big story in a game in Vilnius where 10th ranked Rytas 2 (13-20) was rolled over by eighth ranked Stekas (15-18) 101-81 on Saturday. Stekas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Paulius Semaska (184-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists. Mantas Serksnas (200-1996, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 21 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Stekas players scored in double figures. Stekas' coach Tomas Purlys allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Augustinas Kiudulas (203-2003) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Arnas Adomavicius (191-2000, college: UNCG) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Stekas maintains eighth position with 15-18 record. Loser Rytas 2 keeps the tenth place with 20 games lost. They share the position with Palanga and Vilkaviskis. Stekas will meet bottom-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. Rytas 2 will play against Delikatesas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
