Rather expected game in Klaipeda where 14th ranked Neptunas-Akv. (6-27) was defeated by twelfth ranked Palanga (13-20) 83-74 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Zac Owens (180-1998, college: Bethel, IN) who scored 20 points and 6 assists. Center Tadas Budrys (205-2002) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Matas Repsys (205-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Gediminas Lesciauskas (197-2001) added 13 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Neptunas-Akv. players scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Alfredas Kaniava rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Palanga moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Rytas 2 and Vilkaviskis. Loser Neptunas-Akv. stay dead last with 27 lost games. Palanga will meet at home Kretinga (#13) in the next round. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Stekas and hope to secure a win.
