Regular Season Round 23: Schwenningen - Artland 74-95

Very expected game when 18th ranked Schwenningen (5-17) was smashed at home by third ranked Artland Dragons (15-8) 95-74 on Saturday. Artland Dragons made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Schwenningen turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Croatian center Marko Bacak (210-1995) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard William Christmas (196-1996, college: CPP) accounted for 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Five Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons' coach Julien Patrick Flomo felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jacob Knauf (210-1997) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Devonte McCall (198-1998, college: Post) added 18 points respectively for Schwenningen in the defeat. Artland Dragons maintains third place with 15-8 record having five points less than leader Vechta. Schwenningen at the other side stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Artland Dragons will meet at home 46ers (#5) in the next round. Schwenningen will play against Phoenix Hagen (#4) and hope to secure a win.
