Liga Betclic top team - Benfica (19-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Esgueira (8-14) 93-61. Benfica dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Esgueira's 32. Benfica forced 19 Esgueira turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Aaron Broussard (196-1990, college: Seattle) notched 22 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center Terrell Carter II (208-1996, college: Fresno St., agency: Haylett Sports) supported him with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Ryan Ogden (193-1996, college: Southwestern) did not help to save the game for Esgueira. Forward Hugo Sota (199-1993) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-3 record. Newly promoted Esgueira keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost.
