Very expected game in Kaunas where 11th ranked Marijampoles (2-12) was crushed by fifth ranked Zalgiris (11-6) 104-50 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Marijampoles' 22. They outrebounded Marijampoles 59-23 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Zalgiris looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Marijampoles' players. The best player for the winners was Tomas Stankevicius (-2005) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Martynas Kancevicius (-2006) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Point guard Adrijus Janciauskas (181-2005) produced 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Augustas Merkys (194-2005) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests.
