Second Stage Round 10: Stekas - Palanga 79-72

Very expected game when 13th ranked Palanga (13-22) lost to eighth ranked Stekas (16-19) in Vilnius 72-79. Palanga was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-1991) scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Justas Sinica (203-1985) chipped in 12 points during the contest. At the losing side Tadas Kymantas (186-1995) responded with 12 points and point guard Ernestas Jaskus (195-2000) scored 13 points. Four Palanga players scored in double figures. Palanga's coach Povilas Sakinis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Stekas maintains eighth position with 16-19 record. Palanga at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 22 games lost. They share the position with Kretinga. Stekas will play against Delikatesas (#11) in Joniskis in the next round. Palanga will play on the road against Rytas 2 in Vilnius and hopes to get back on the winning track.
