There was a surprise result in Jennersdorf where thirteenth ranked Future Team (4-14) defeated higher ranked Blackbirds (12-6) 60-56 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-56. The best player for the winners was guard Miro Zapf (189-2003) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Valdemar Hansen chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was center Christoph Astl (185-1988) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and the former international forward Sebastian Koch (200-1988) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Blackbirds' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Future Team moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Flames and Towers. Loser Blackbirds dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Raiders. Future Team will meet at home higher ranked Rocks (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Blackbirds will play against Flames (#11) in Vienna and hope to secure a win.
