An exciting game was played in Montana. Second ranked Montana faced one of their biggest challengers Rilski Sportist. Host Montana (3-2) defeated guests from Samokov (0-5) 68-59. Montana outrebounded Rilski Sportist 45-34 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Shereen Sutherland (188-1994, college: UC Irvine) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Gabriela Nikolova (183-1997) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Montana's coach Nikolay Gospodinov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Denitsa Manolova (172-2006) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Veronika Djikova (179-1990) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Newly promoted Montana maintains second position with 3-2 record behind leader Champion 2006. Rilski Sportist at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with five games lost. Montana will again meet at home Rilski Sportist (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rilski Sportist will have a break next round.
