KOS (#5) was upset in Celovec by eighth ranked Worthersee Piraten 90-59. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of KOS. The game without a history. Worthersee Piraten led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to KOS's 40. They outrebounded KOS 55-26 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Shawn Ray (194-1980, college: NCCU) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Felix Leindecker (182-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovenian point guard Grega Sajevic (187-1996) who recorded 13 points and guard Timi Huber (179-1992) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Worthersee Piraten and four KOS players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Worthersee Piraten (10-8) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rocks and United. Loser KOS keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with UDW Alligators. Worthersee Piraten will meet at home Lions (#10) in the next round. KOS will play against the league's second-placed BBU (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
