Important game to mention about took place in Iasi. Seventh ranked Politehnica Iasi (1-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Agronomia (2-2) 71-70 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Agronomia won fourth quarter 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politehnica Iasi forced 22 Agronomia turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Liviu Rotariu (192-1993) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and forward Alexandru Padineanu (193-1993) who added 22 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Alexandru Lazar (187-2002) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Mihnea Buligescu (-2001) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Agronomia's coach Virgiliu Capusan tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Politehnica Iasi maintains seventh position with 1-3 record, which they share with Bucuresti E. Agronomia at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Ploiesti CSU and Craiova 2. Politehnica Iasi will play against Laguna (#8) in Bucuresti in the next round. Agronomia will play at home against the league's leader Brasov (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
