Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Alexandria and 11th ranked Targoviste had identical 2-14 record. But Targoviste was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Alexandria 64-48 on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Alexandria. Targoviste managed to win third quarter 20-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Targoviste to just 4 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Targoviste 55-33 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Teodora Dumitru (182-2001) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Alexandria (3-14) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Agronomia. Loser Targoviste stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Alexandria will meet higher ranked Brasov (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Targoviste will play against Rapid (#4) in Bucuresti and hope to secure a win.
