There was a minor upset in Joniskis where 8th ranked Stekas (16-20) was defeated by eleventh ranked Delikatesas (15-20) 76-67 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was Brazilian swingman Fernando Salsamendi (194-1996, college: Ave Maria) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds. American Darion Rackley (187-1992, college: JSU) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Justas Sinica (203-1985) produced 30 points and swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-1991) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Delikatesas moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Vilkaviskis. Newly promoted Stekas keeps the eighth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Rytas 2. Delikatesas will meet Kretinga (#12) on the road in the next round. Stekas will play against Vilkaviskis (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
