Second Stage Round 11: Vytis - Silute 76-79

The most exciting game of round 11 in the NKL took place in Sakiai. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Vytis (21-16) to sixth ranked Silute (16-19) 79-76 on Thursday evening. Silute made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Canadian guard Jalen Warren (188-1999, college: UIC) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Julius Liesis (198-1999) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Ernestas Jonkus (187-1999) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Augustinas Mikstas (203-2001, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vytis' coach Erikas Kuciauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Silute maintains sixth place with 16-19 record. Vytis at the other side keeps the fifth position with 16 games lost. Silute are looking forward to face higher ranked Zalgiris II (#3) in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vytis will play on the road against the league's leader Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole and is hoping to win this game.
