Regular Season Round 21: Lietkabelis - Gargzdu 82-73

There was no surprise in Panevezys where 11th ranked Gargzdu (4-17) was defeated by fifth ranked Lietkabelis (13-8) 82-73. Lietkabelis outrebounded Gargzdu 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Jamel Morris (193-1992, college: Fairmont St.) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Forward Paulius Murauskas (203-2004) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Isiah Osborne (196-1996, college: Carleton) answered with 32 points and Giedrius Staniulis (206-1991) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Gargzdu. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lietkabelis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 13-8 record. Newly promoted Gargzdu keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Lietkabelis will play against higher ranked Juventus (#4) in Utena in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gargzdu will play at home against Neptunas (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
