Regular Season Round 15: Blyskavky - Sumy 91-29

The game between third ranked Sumy (4-6) and fourth ranked Blyskavky (9-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Sumy unexpectedly was crushed by in Vinnytsia 29-91. The game without a history. Blyskavky led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sumy to just 3 points in second quarter and to 11 points in first half. Blyskavky held Sumy to an opponent 19.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Blyskavky forced 27 Sumy turnovers and outrebounded them 57-34 including a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by Sumy's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Blyskavky made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for Larysa Stadnik (185-1992, agency: BIG) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Anna Lisovych (175-2002) helped adding 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four Blyskavky players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Viktoriia Chernova (-2000) with 7 points and 10 rebounds and Valeriia Shevchenko (-2007) scored 14 points. Blyskavky have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Blyskavky maintains fourth place with 9-6 record. Sumy lost fourth consecutive game. Sumy at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third position with six games lost. Blyskavky are again looking forward to face higher ranked Sumy (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sumy will play against Blyskavky 2 and is hoping to win this game.
