Second Stage Round 12: Telsiai - Mazeikiai 83-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Telsiai. Second ranked Telsiai faced 4th ranked Mazeikiai. Host Telsiai (28-9) defeated guests from Mazeikiai (22-14) 83-67. Telsiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-1992) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Deividas Rasys (197-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 25 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Karolis Guscikas (206-1992, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-1985) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Telsiai maintains second position with 28-9 record having just one point less than leader Stekas. Mazeikiai at the other side keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. Telsiai are looking forward to face Silute (#6) on the road in the next round. Mazeikiai will play against the league's leader Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
