Second Stage Round 12: Neptunas-Akv. - Rytas 2 74-83

There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 14th ranked Neptunas-Akv. (7-29) was defeated by ninth ranked Rytas 2 (17-20) 83-74 on Saturday. Rytas 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Arnas Adomavicius (191-2000, college: UNCG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 assists and Greek Andreas Kalogiros (198-2002) who added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Matas Repsys (205-2002) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Adomas Sidarevicius (188-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Alfredas Kaniava rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rytas 2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Stekas. Loser Neptunas-Akv. stay dead last with 29 lost games. Rytas 2 will meet at home Vilkaviskis (#11) in the next round. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Kretinga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
