Rather expected game when 11th ranked Targoviste (2-15) was smashed at home by eighth ranked Targu Mures (5-13) 73-50 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-50. Targu Mures dominated on the defensive end, holding Targoviste to just 7 points in second and third quarters. They held Targoviste to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Targoviste 45-27 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Keilanei Cooper (175, college: UC Riverside) who scored that evening 26 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian center Anastasija Podunavac (185-1997, agency: BIG) supported her with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Targu Mures will meet league's leader Sf.Gheorghe in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Targoviste will play against Rapid (#4) in Bucuresti and hope to secure a win.
