An interesting game for Koblenz (19-1) which hosted in Koblenz 4th placed Coburg (11-9). First ranked Koblenz had an easy win 109-87. Koblenz dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Coburg's 32. They outrebounded Coburg 40-24 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Koblenz shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for point guard Marvin Heckel (190-1997) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Dominique Johnson (194-1992) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Koblenz's coach Patrick Elzie felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish point guard Jose Carrasco (185-1994) answered with 18 points and 7 assists and point guard Adrian Worthy (187-2003) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Coburg. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Koblenz have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-1 record. Coburg lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Itzehoe. Koblenz will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
