Regular Season Round 20: Fenerbahce - Nesibe 82-81

Sixth-ranked Nesibe (11-9) was very close to win a game against second ranked Fenerbahce (17-3) in Istanbul on Monday. Fenerbahce managed to secure only one-point victory 82-81. However their fans expected much easier game. German forward Satou Sabally (193-1998, college: Oregon) saved the victory by scoring 27 points. American forward Breanna Stewart (193-1994, college: UConn) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Fenerbahce's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Jessica Thomas (168-1994, college: Miami, FL) replied with 17 points and 6 assists and the former international center Ilayda Guner (186-1999) added 18 points in the effort for Nesibe. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fenerbahce have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 17-3 record behind leader Mersin. Nesibe at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Emlak. Fenerbahce's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Galatasaray.
