The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Kibirkstis-VKM as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Kibirkstis-VKM defeated 4th ranked LSU-Kaunas in Vilnius 73-65. They outrebounded LSU-Kaunas 46-35 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ugne Grigaliunaite (184-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and guard Sintija Aukstikalnyte (175-2006) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Kibirkstis-VKM players scored in double figures. The former international guard Kriste Timofejeva (180-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Ieva Stankeviciute (177-1989) scored 22 points. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. LSU-Kaunas lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. LSU-Kaunas will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Kibirkstis-VKM will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Druskininku on the road.
