There was no surprise when 18th ranked Bayreuth (3-18) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (15-7) 102-93 on Wednesday. EnBW Ludwigsburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard Prentiss Hubb (190-1999, college: Notre Dame, agency: Green Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 9 assists. Shonn Miller (201-1993, college: UConn) helped adding 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Point guard Brandon Childress (183-1997, college: Wake Forest) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 8 assists and Ahmed Hill (196-1995, college: Virginia Tech) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EnBW Ludwigsburg have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Oldenburg. Bayreuth lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg will meet at home league's leader ALBA Berlin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bayreuth will play against s Oliver Baskets (#9) in Wuerzburg and hope to secure a win.
