Regular Season Round 20: TED Ankara - Mersin 86-84

Third defeat of league's leader Mersin (16-3) against fifth ranked TED Ankara (12-7) 86-84 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Mersin. TED Ankara looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Brandon Walters (208-1995, college: MTSU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks. Point guard Omer Kucuk (188-2001) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Tobin Carberry (193-1991, college: LIU Post) replied with 30 points and 7 assists and his fellow American import power forward Aaron Jones (206-1993, college: Ole Miss) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Mersin. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mersin's coach Semih Soguksu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. TED Ankara moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Final Spor. Mersin at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Cagdas BS who have the same record. Mersin will play next round against Yalovaspor trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TED Ankara will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Final Spor in Bursa.
