We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Kaunas where 7th ranked Zalgiris II (9-9) was rolled over by eighth ranked Panevezio (9-9) 102-74 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Panevezio. Zalgiris II managed to win fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panevezio forced 21 Zalgiris II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Zalgiris II's players. Guard Nikas Stuknys (194-2005) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 steals (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Arnas Strikulys (188-2005) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Panevezio players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Augustas Navickas (190-2005) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Arminas Bareckas (-2005) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Zalgiris II's coach Arunas Visockas gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Panevezio have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Zalgiris II. Panevezio will meet at home league's leader VKKM in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zalgiris II will play against the league's second-placed SKM I (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
