There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Kocaeli (7-13) crushed higher ranked Sigortam.net (11-8) in Balikesir 100-74 on Friday. Kocaeli made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Desure Buie (185-1997, college: Hofstra) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 assists (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Nick Banyard (203-1994, college: UCF, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds by Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-1987) did not help to save the game for Sigortam.net. Forward Umut Gecen (-1997) added 10 points and 5 assists for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kocaeli moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with OGM Orman. Sigortam.net lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Yalovaspor. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
