A very close game took place in Itzehoe between RheinStars and Eagles. Tenth ranked RheinStars (9-11) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Eagles (11-10). RheinStars managed to escape with a 3-point win 81-78 on Saturday evening. Point guard Rupert Hennen (184-1997) fired 26 points for the winners. Canadian point guard Ali Sow (185-1998, college: Laurier) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Emil Marshall (198-2000) produced 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Trey McBride (188-1997, college: Northwood) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. RheinStars moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Schwelm. Loser Eagles dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Oberhaching and Bball Loewen. RheinStars will meet at home higher ranked TKS 49ers (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eagles will play against Wolmirstedt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
