No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Electrico FC (3-1) beat bottom-ranked Barreirense (0-4) in Ponte de Sor 92-87 on Saturday. Electrico FC dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Barreirense's 34. They outrebounded Barreirense 44-26 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by swingman Joao Lanzinha (190-1989) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Tedoyame Simao (180-2002) supported him with 18 points and 5 assists. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Micah Downs (203-1986, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for Barreirense. Point guard Goncalo Silva (181-1994) added 27 points for lost side. Electrico FC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Vasco and Portimonense. Loser Barreirense still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Queluz. Electrico FC will meet at home Belenenses (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Barreirense will play against the league's leader Academica in Coimbra and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
