Second Stage Round 14: Kretinga - Stekas 63-90

13th ranked Kretinga (13-25) was outscored at home by eighth ranked Stekas (18-20) with the biggest margin this round 90-63. Stekas outrebounded Kretinga 40-28 including a 33-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kretinga's players. Gediminas Povilauskas (195-1992) notched 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the effort and forward Karolis Brusokas (202-1991) supported him with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Stekas players scored in double figures. Stekas' coach Tomas Purlys felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 11 points and 5 assists by point guard Modestas Jurkaitis (185-1995) did not help to save the game for Kretinga. Point guard Edgaras Danys (186-2000) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Newly promoted Stekas maintains eighth position with 18-20 record. Kretinga lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 25 games lost.
