Regular Season Round 22: Lietkabelis - Juventus 91-71
Date: March 12, 2023
The game in Panevezys supposed to be also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Juventus (14-8) played at the court of fifth ranked Lietkabelis (14-8). Lietkabelis did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-71 on Sunday. Lietkabelis made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Lietkabelis outrebounded Juventus 40-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Estonian point guard Kristian Kullamaee (194-1999) notched 21 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Bosnian-Serbian Nikola Popovic (211-1997, college: Boston Coll.) supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Even 24 points by American point guard Alex Hamilton (193-1993, college: Louisiana Tech) did not help to save the game for Juventus. Zygimantas Skucas (202-1992, agency: BIG) added 9 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietkabelis have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Juventus. Lietkabelis will meet Nevezis (#8) in the next round. Juventus will play against Prienai (#12) and hope to secure a win.
