Very predictable result in Bonn where second ranked Telekom Baskets (19-2) outscored 9th ranked s Oliver Baskets (11-12) 94-73 on Sunday. The game without a history. Telekom Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by s Oliver Baskets' players. It was a great evening for American-North Macedonian point guard TJ Shorts (175-1997, college: UC Davis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. British Deane Williams (203-1996, college: Augusta) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Shorts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Telekom Baskets' coach Tuomas Iisalo felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Stanley Whittaker (183-1994, college: Keiser) responded with 14 points and 6 assists and the other American import point guard Cameron Hunt (192-1997, college: Southwestern, KS) scored 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Telekom Baskets and four s Oliver Baskets players scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with ALBA. Loser s Oliver Baskets keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Telekom Baskets will meet BG Goettingen (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. s Oliver Baskets will play against Bayreuth and hope to secure a win.
