Regular Season Round 19: VKM - Perkunas 86-84

Ninth-ranked Perkunas (4-15) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked VKM (13-5) in Vilniaus on Sunday. VKM managed to secure only two-point victory 86-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Perkunas was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 30-26 charge of VKM, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Perkunas' players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Titas Pundinas (175-2005) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Erikas Vansevicius (188-2005) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Laurynas Vilimas (-2005) came up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Simas Sliogeris (-2005) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Perkunas in the defeat. VKM moved-up to third place. Perkunas lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. VKM will meet Zalgiris II (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Perkunas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas Zalgiris II.
