Second Stage Round 7: Domzale - Konjice 52-60

Bottom-ranked Domzale (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 60-52 loss to sixth ranked Konjice (2-6) in Domzale on Sunday evening. Domzale trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 17-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 52-60 at the end of the game. Konjice forced 26 Domzale turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Eva Brdnik (173-1997) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Marusa Podgrajsek (169-2000) helped adding 19 points. At the losing side Yeisy Perez (172-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Italian power forward Laura Medeot (183-2003) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Domzale's coach Tomo Oresnik rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Konjice maintains sixth place with 2-6 record. Domzale lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Konjice will meet at home league's leader Celje in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Domzale will have a break next round.
