No shocking result in a game in Kyiv where top-ranked Budivelnyk (25-0) smashed 7th ranked Cherkasy (5-19) 91-70 on Friday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Budivelnyk's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-11 extending their advantage to 21 points. Budivelnyk outrebounded Cherkasy 42-20 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Volodymyr Koniev (203-1989) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Maksim Sandul (207-1991, agency: BIG) chipped in 11 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk's coach Valerii Plekhanov felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
