Very significant was Beroe's (#1, 6-0) victory against second-ranked Montana (3-3) 99-60. Beroe forced 28 Montana turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Beroe looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Teodora Dineva (178-1996) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Violina Kocheva (175-1991) who added 20 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Five Beroe players scored in double figures. International forward Gabriela Nikolova (183-1997) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American Shereen Sutherland (188-1994, college: UC Irvine) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beroe (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Newly promoted Montana keeps the second place with three games lost. Beroe will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Montana will play on the road against Rilski Sportist in Samokov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
