Regular Season Round 23: Koeln - TKS 49ers 90-66

There was a small surprise in Koeln where ninth ranked RheinStars (10-11) smashed 6th ranked TKS 49ers (11-10) 90-66 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Canadian point guard Ali Sow (185-1998, college: Laurier) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Andrew Onwuegbuzie (192-1995) helped adding 20 points. Four RheinStars players scored in double figures. Ukrainian point guard Andriy Kozhemiakin (190-1996, agency: BIG) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Robin Jorch (211-1994, college: Boise St.) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. RheinStars moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ehingen and Speyer. Loser TKS 49ers dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. RheinStars will meet Herford (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. TKS 49ers will play against the league's leader SSV Lok Bernau (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
