The game in Paderborn supposed to be also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Lions (16-11) played at the court of 8th ranked Uni Baskets (14-13). Lions smashed Uni Baskets 107-83. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Uni Baskets. Lions made 28-of-36 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Uni Baskets were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Ben Shungu (188-1997, college: Vermont) who led the winners and scored 23 points. His fellow American import point guard Lovell Cabbil (188-1997, college: Liberty) accounted for 14 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Cabbil is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Lions players scored in double figures. American point guard Buzz Anthony (180-1998, college: RMC) came up with 5 points and 16 assists and Oshane Drews (198-2001) added 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively for Uni Baskets in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lions have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Giessen and Hagen. Uni Baskets at the other side keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven. Lions will play against Kirchheim Knights (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Uni Baskets will play against Artland Dragons in Quakenbrueck and hope to get back on the winning track.
