Regular Season Round 27: Vechta - Bochum 85-64

ProA top team - Rasta Vechta (22-5) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked SparkassenStars (12-15) 85-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SparkassenStars. Rasta Vechta made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded SparkassenStars 39-21 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Naz Bohannon (198, college: Clemson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Joel-Sadu Aminu (192-1997) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Niklas Geske (188-1994) with 14 points and center Hendrik Drescher (204-2000) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rasta Vechta maintains first place with 22-5 record. SparkassenStars at the other side keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Kirchheim. Rasta Vechta are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Schwenningen (#18) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. SparkassenStars will play against Science City Jena (#14) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
