The game between closely ranked teams ended with Lusitania's (11-14) home loss to Ovarense (13-12) in Angra 66-72 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jacoby Armstrong (201-1995, college: UNH) who led the winners and scored 12 points. His fellow American import forward Brandon Peel (201-1994, college: CCSU) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. Ovarense's coach Joao Tiago used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Derek Jackson (187-1991, college: Kent St.) came up with 14 points and 6 assists and Ugandan-American Deng Geu (203-1997, college: N.Texas) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Lusitania in the defeat. Ovarense will meet Benfica in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lusitania will have a break next round.
