Regular Season Round 23: Juventus - Prienai 86-90

Bottom-ranked Prienai managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses. This time they won against fifth-ranked Juventus in Utena 90-86. Prienai forced 19 Juventus turnovers. Juventus was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for center Giedrius Bergaudas (207-2000) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Five Prienai players scored in double figures. The former international guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-1988) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Martynas Paliukenas (191-1993) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Juventus in the defeat. Juventus' coach Donaldas Kairys rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Prienai maintains twelfth place with 3-20 record. Juventus at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Jonava. Prienai will play against higher ranked Nevezis (#8) in Kedainiai in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Juventus will play at home against Siauliai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
