Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 10th ranked Haremspor (8-13) was defeated by second ranked Mersin (18-3) 91-73 on Sunday. Mersin looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American guard Tobin Carberry (193-1991, college: LIU Post) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 assists for the winners. The other American import power forward Aaron Jones (206-1993, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Mersin players scored in double figures. Berkan Aksu (204-2001) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Donte Clark (194-1994, college: Texas Southern, agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mersin keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Cagdas BS. Newly promoted Haremspor keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
