Liga I top team - Brasov (10-2) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Gheorgheni (1-3) 66-60. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 19-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Brasov forced 20 Gheorgheni turnovers. It was a quality performance for forward Sergiu Souca (200-1986) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Ovidiu Stochici (182-1995) accounted for 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. Tamas Bodo came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Matyas Lokody (190-1987) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Gheorgheni in the defeat. Four Gheorgheni players scored in double figures. Gheorgheni's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Brasov have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Newly promoted Gheorgheni dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost.
