Liga Nationala top team - Oradea (13-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Pitesti (5-9) 84-69. The game was mostly controlled by Oradea. Pitesti was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Pitesti 39-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Oradea players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American forward Mark Ogden (206-1994, college: Utah Tech) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Kris Richard (196-1989, college: Tulane) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Richard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American point guard CJ Wilson (180-1994, college: Young Harris) with 15 points and 4 assists and Serbian center Nikola Jevtovic (209-1989) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oradea have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Pitesti at the other side dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Oradea will play against Rapid (#3) in Bucuresti in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Pitesti will play at home against Constanta (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
