Liga Betclic top team - Benfica (21-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Ovarense (13-13) in Lisbon 91-75. They outrebounded Ovarense 36-19 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Benfica players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Aaron Broussard (196-1990, college: Seattle) who scored that evening 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Tunisian Makram Ben Romdhane (205-1989) supported him with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Brandon Peel (201-1994, college: CCSU) did not help to save the game for Ovarense. His fellow American import point guard Isaiah Johnson (183-1993, college: Young Harris) added 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-5 record, which they share with FC Porto and Sporting. Ovarense at the other side keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. Benfica will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ovarense will play at home against the league's second-placed Sporting (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
