Regular Season Round 19: Interkhim - Blyskavky 95-60

The game between Top Four teams took place in Odessa. Second ranked host Interkhim (15-2) smashed 4th placed Blyskavky (12-8) 95-60. The game without a history. Interkhim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Interkhim outrebounded Blyskavky 58-29 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Blyskavky's players. It was a great evening for forward Kseniia Pankina (179-2002) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. The former international center Yevgeniya MBaye (192-1992) helped adding 21 points and 14 rebounds. Five Interkhim players scored in double figures. Interkhim's coach Iryna Shchipakina felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Violetta Ostapchuk (170-2005) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Iryna Zhmurko (185-1996) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Interkhim have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-2 record having twelve points less than leader Kyiv Basket. Newly promoted Blyskavky keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Interkhim are again looking forward to face Blyskavky (#4) in Vinnytsia in the next round. Blyskavky will have a break next round.
