Very expected game when 12th ranked Herford (3-19) was smashed at home by eighth ranked RheinStars (11-11) 97-78 on Saturday. RheinStars forced 23 Herford turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Canadian point guard Ali Sow (185-1998, college: Laurier) who scored that evening 30 points and point guard Rupert Hennen (184-1997) supported him with 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 26 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by Filmore Beck (190-1991) did not help to save the game for Herford. American-Israeli guard Jordan Mello-Klein (185-1998, college: Bentley) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Herford players scored in double figures.
