Regular Season Round 20: Pereyaslav - KIVS SBK 53-61

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked KIVS SBK (5-10) beat 5th ranked Pereyaslav (2-14) in Khmelnytskyi 61-53 on Saturday. Pereyaslav trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 11-6 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 53-61 at the end of the game. KIVS SBK forced 33 Pereyaslav turnovers. The winners were led by swingman Katerina Shtyk (175-2003) who scored that evening 13 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals and swingman Elizaveta Vodovoz (175-2003) supported her with 20 points and 4 steals. Even 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds by forward Anna Yarosh (180-2005) did not help to save the game for Pereyaslav. Forward Tetyana Bashtova (179-1993) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Newly promoted KIVS SBK maintains sixth position with 5-10 record. Pereyaslav lost fifth consecutive game. Pereyaslav at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. KIVS SBK will meet higher ranked Sumy (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pereyaslav will play against Rivne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
