Regular Season Round 24: BSW Sixers - Vechta 2 69-57

Rather predictable result when second ranked Sixers (18-4) won against 5th ranked Vechta-2 (12-9) in Sandersdorf 69-57 on Sunday. Strangely Vechta-2 outrebounded Sixers 46-27 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Latvian Kristaps Kilps (196-2001) who scored that evening 26 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-1987, college: FPU) supported him with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Even 10 points and 9 rebounds by forward Roman Bedime (203-2001) did not help to save the game for Vechta-2. Center Johann Gruenloh (210-2005) added 9 points and 11 rebounds. Vechta-2's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sixers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-4 record behind leader Koblenz. Newly promoted Vechta-2 keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Sixers will meet Giessen Pointers (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vechta-2 will play against TKS 49ers (#8) and hope to secure a win.
