Not a big story in a game in Quakenbrueck where 9th ranked Uni Baskets (14-14) were defeated by third ranked Artland Dragons (19-9) 84-70 on Sunday. Artland Dragons made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Uni Baskets only scored seven points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard William Christmas (196-1996, college: CPP) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Jannes Hundt (182-1996) who added 8 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Buzz Anthony (180-1998, college: RMC) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Marten Linssen (203-1998, college: St.Louis) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artland Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-9 record having four points less than leader Vechta. Loser Uni Baskets keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Trier. Artland Dragons will meet Kirchheim Knights (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Uni Baskets will play against 46ers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
